Project Brief
An £8.6 million steel frame, 3 storey new building on the sited on the town hall car park.
A government funded college that offers 14 – 18 year olds an innovative learning environment in bio medical sciences and design engineering.
Works Performed
- Site strip, foundations, pads and waste removal.
- Foul and storm drainage.
- Triton attenuation system.
- Ground floor slab – Rebar, formwork, concrete.
- Concrete to upper composite metal flooring.
- External works – hard landscaping.
- 5M deep volclay water proofing to old existing building requiring deep valclay wtaer proofing to old existing building requiring temporary works shoring system
- Part of the site was contaminated with asbestos which was isolated by a specialist contractor.
- GECON disposed of soil in that area by using a specialist hauler to a registered tip for treatment.
